2008 CAMP GRAVATT STAFF POSITIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Camp Gravatt is now hiring for summer 2008.  Being a part of the summer camp staff at Gravatt is a positive, life-changing experience.  Camp counselors serve as Christian role models for campers and make a lasting impression in the lives of the children they serve.  They also can't help but make great friends and have a fabulous time.  Camp staff grow in their own spiritual formation and develop skills that will serve them long after leaving Camp Gravatt at the end of the summer.  Camp staff work hard and play hard.  If you have something to gain, and a lot to give, please consider applying.

Please Note: All positions—except junior counselors—are salary based within a range that may vary depending on certifications and experience. The director will interview all applicants in person or by telephone. Some positions listed may not be filled depending on individual/administrative/staffing requirements. Likewise an applicant may apply for one position and be hired for another due to individual/administrative/staffing needs. The director will discuss salary and position with each applicant prior to preparing a contract.

General Job Expectations:

Program Staff members are expected to be available for a retreat April 25-27, for Family Camp (including orientation) from May 30-June 1, and from June 4 through August 9, 2008, excluding session breaks. Other meetings in the spring may be scheduled.

Other Permanent Staff members are expected to be available from June 5 through August 9, 2008, excluding session breaks. Some Permanent staff may be requested to work Family Camp (including orientation) from May 30-June 1; this will be discussed at time of hire.  Permanent staff must attend Safe Church Training, First Aid/CPR and other training/certification courses as agreed upon at the time of hire. Staff may request minor exceptions (time off for weddings, funerals, family emergencies, college orientations, etc.) in writing with the application if possible. Only dates requested at time of hiring can be guaranteed off. In any case, staff must notify the director of any absence from camp.

Junior Counselor applicants must complete and return the Junior Counselor Session Preference Sheet and are expected to be available for all of the days of the sessions for which they apply.

Program Staff Priority Deadline: 1/22/2008

Permanent Staff Priority Deadline: 2/4/2008

Junior Counselor Priority Deadline: 3/31/2008

Applications received after the priority deadlines listed will be considered only if positions are unfilled.
