Gravatt is a sanctuary for the ministry of Christian formation
and hospitality. The Gravatt Board of Trustees is
embarking on an ambitious building plan which over the next five
years will enhance our capacity to serve and minister to groups of
all ages. For 59 years Gravatt has welcomed people
of all ages into vibrant experiences of Christian nurture as well as
provided thousands of retreat and conference experiences for growth
and renewal. We are committed to providing expanded facilities to
enhance each guest’s time spent on our beautiful pine woods campus.

Gravatt is sacred
ground. For nearly six decades the Gravatt experience has touched
countless lives across the generations, offering spiritual growth
experiences and time apart to renew and refocus. We strive to
continue and fulfill for future generations the visionary ministry
initiated by Bishop Gravatt in 1949.
In 2007 the Bishop Gravatt Center
Board welcomed Ms. Lauri S. Yeargin as its new and energetic
Executive Director. While the Bishop Gravatt Center remains an
institution of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina, a new Board of
Trustees has assumed independent management of the camp and
conference facilities. Our board has the fiscal responsibility of
providing for our mission programs and annual budget through user
fees and donor support. The facility improvements described above
will require generous gifts in order that we may continue the legacy
of the Gravatt Camp and Conference Center. We invite your support anew as our
future unfolds.
The Bishop Gravatt Center Board of
Trustees currently includes Ms. Carolyn Barfield of St.
Bartholomew's in North Augusta; Mr. Clint Burdett of St. Mary's in
Columbia, Dr. Ron Gregory of Christ Church, Greenville (Chair);
the Rt. Rev’d. Dorsey F. Henderson, Jr.; the Rev’d. Clyde Ireland of
Trinity Cathedral, Columbia; Ms. Tina Lockhart of Grace Church in
Camden; the Rev. Paul Stricklin of St.
Michael's and All Angels, Columbia; Mr. Mitchell Tibshrany of St. Mary’s,
Columbia; and Mr. Benton Williamson of St. John’s, Shandon.
