Thank you for your continuing support of the Bishop Gravatt Center.  Our July newsletter is short because our newsletter editor is in the midst of summer camp. As always, we appreciate your prayers, your business and your generosity.

Renovations Are Under Way
Stewart Hall
Get ready for a new and improved Cole Lodge coming your way this fall.  Updates are being made in all of the lodge guest rooms and the meeting room to make your stay more comfortable.  Four rooms are complete, and four more will be ready soon.  New restroom facilities are being planned for Stewart Hall.
Come see us soon!
Thank You to Our Volunteers and Contributors!
Thank you to the family of camper Jenna Stephens for the donation of a refrigerator for the camp canteen.  Our drinks are now cold and frosty thanks to you!

Camp Gravatt is also appreciative of the many people who have added contributions to their camper tuition payments and to those who have sent independent donations ranging from $10 to $500 and more for camper scholarships.  We have been able to support numerous campers who would not otherwise be able to enjoy a week at camp thanks to our many generous donors.

And finally, thanks to the volunteers who have given of their time and talent so far this summer.  We hope we're not forgetting anyone: John Reddic, Stephen Kasparzik,  Aubrey Carde, Bryan and Ginger Phillips, Richard Bailey, Molly Dougal, Hope Spruell, Beth Ely, Nancy Kinney, Father Clyde Ireland, and Archdeacon Fred Byrd.

Want to volunteer or donate?  If you are remodeling your kitchen and looking for a place to get rid of your working refrigerator, Gravatt could use two more.  Donations don't have to be beautiful but need to be functioning and clean.  We can also use monetary donations for camp scholarships and other programs.  And hands are always useful for many different projects.  Please email Lauri if you can help.

Camp Gravatt Lake is Full!
boys in waterIt's so hard to believe the first half of the summer is behind us!  Already, Camp Gravatt has hosted almost 500 campers.  For the second half of the summer our spiritual theme is prayer.  Campers are learning more about how they can speak with God and hear Him speaking to them.

In other camp happenings, we are thrilled to have a lake filled with water.  Many friends of Gravatt know that as a result of dam failure, we went the first few sessions using the lake on the conference side.  While it was a great place to swim, it's awesome to be back in our own lake.  Campers and staff enjoyed a beautiful fireworks show over the lake on July 5, and are lining up every day at free swim to be bounced high into the air off of the brand new Blob.
Campers have also had fun with Adventure and Discovery, archery, art, canoe, Footprints, 4-square and other great day activities, as well as at evening programs like carnival, gameshow night, luau, dance, and talent show.  It's not too late for your camper to sign up for a week of fun and fellowship at Camp Gravatt this summer - or to come back for a second.  We offer second session discounts if your camper has already attending a session been crying for more.

Openings are available for 2nd through 6th graders in sessions 6 and 6 for 7th through 9th graders in session 7.  Spaces are going fast, so get your registration in today.  Click here for registration info.
